About GoldToolkit
What Is GoldToolkit?
GoldToolkit is a free collection of gold calculators built to help everyday people understand what their gold is worth. Whether you're selling jewelry, comparing dealer offers, or just curious about gold prices, our tools give you transparent calculations using the posted spot-price input shown on each page.
Calculation Methodology
All our calculators use the standard industry formula for gold melt value:
Weight is converted to grams regardless of input unit. One troy ounce equals exactly 31.1034768 grams (NIST reference), usually rounded to 31.1035g in display copy.
Purity fraction is the exact gold content used in the math. For alloyed karat gold that is usually karat ÷ 24. For 24K results on this site, we use 0.999 to match the common 999-fine market convention.
Spot price per gram is the spot price per troy ounce divided by 31.1034768.
Buyer payout ranges are rough estimates for context, not guaranteed rates. Actual payouts vary by buyer type, lot size, and market conditions.
Data Sources
Spot-price data is provided via metals.dev. Prices may be slightly delayed from live trading and should be treated as a reference, not a real-time quote.
